I've spent my entire career at the intersection of capital markets and commercial real estate — underwriting billions in transactions across the institutional landscape, from agency multifamily at Freddie Mac to transitional lending at Blackstone's B2R Finance to commercial originations at Wells Fargo.

In 2024, I founded Optimum Real Estate Capital with a simple thesis: the CRE industry's dependence on manual processes, stale data, and fragmented workflows is a structural inefficiency — and AI represents the most significant opportunity to disrupt it since the securitization revolution of the 1990s.

I'm not building another proptech dashboard. I'm building an AI-native investment platform where autonomous agents handle the analytical heavy-lifting, and human judgment is reserved for the decisions that actually require it. The goal: institutional-quality execution at a fraction of the traditional cost structure.

The Data Problem

CRE operates on stale information. Brokers send PDFs. Rent rolls live in Excel. Market data is siloed across a dozen platforms. By the time a traditional shop underwrites a deal, the market has already moved. AI agents can ingest, normalize, and analyze this data in real-time — creating an information advantage that compounds with every deal.

The Speed Problem

A conventional underwriting process takes 2-3 weeks for a single multifamily deal. Our AI pipeline produces a full institutional-quality model — with rent comps, operating analysis, and sensitivity tables — in under 15 minutes. That's not a marginal improvement. That's a category shift in how capital gets deployed.

The Cost Problem

Institutional shops need 8-12 analysts to run a $500M AUM platform. We can match that analytical output with a team of 2-3 people augmented by AI agents. The savings flow directly to investor returns — lower management fees, lower overhead, higher net IRRs.

THE ANTHROPIC THESIS

Claude isn't a chatbot for our business. It's the operating system.

We chose Anthropic's Claude as our core AI infrastructure for three reasons: reasoning depth that handles complex financial analysis, the MCP protocol that lets agents interact with real-world tools and data sources, and a safety-first architecture that institutional investors trust.

Every layer of our stack — from deal sourcing to underwriting to portfolio surveillance to investor reporting — runs through Claude-powered agents. We're not experimenting with AI. We're building the proof case that AI-native real estate firms will outperform traditional ones within this cycle.
